Terms of Service1. Payments and Pricing:
Listed prices, rates, and offered commissions are subject to change at any time. Quoted prices may be higher than the listed starting prices. For all commissioned work, the artist will provide the customer with a quote or price that they will agree on before payment.
Only accepted payment method for commissioned artwork is PayPal and Vips (for Norwegian customers). Exceptions can be made if purchases are done in-person at conventions, then the artist might accept cash at his discretion.
Prices are all listed in either United States Dollars and must be paid in USD, or Norwegian Kroner, if the buyer wants to pay in Norwegian currency, that is acceptable.
A minimum of half the total transaction price must be paid before work will begin; and the final half of the price must be paid after the work is completed.Commission Refund Policy: Full refunds are not accepted if the work has already begun. Even if the work has not begun, the artist shall retain a 5% fee on full refunds. Only exception to this is in the event that the work has not begun and the artist is the one who cancels the commission or exceeds the 60 day time frame (stated in Section 3 Line 1). In this exceptional case, a full refund will be issued to the customer. However, if work has begun, partial refunds may be available but are at the artist’s sole discretion. Customers should contact the artist as soon as possible if they have any issues with their order.2. Usage Permissions and Copyrights:
The limited copyrights, given to the customer, to the artwork are outlined here. Commissioned artwork is for personal use only, commercial use (for profit or otherwise) is forbidden. If customers would like to use the commissioned work for commercial purposes, the customer should contact the artist so they can discuss new prices and terms.
The customer that purchased the commission will be provided with a high resolution digital file of the completed artwork. This artowrk might be uploaded to a public website gallery if the customer wishes, but the artist must always be credited somewhere in the customer’s public use of the commissioned artwork. (such as in the description)The customer may resize and crop images, but may not make any other modifications without prior permission from the artist.
Any work-in-progress images or files provided to the customer are also for personal (non-public) use only without prior permission for other use being given by the artist.
Full copyrights to the artwork, including (but not limited to) rights of reproduction and sale of reproductions (such as prints), is retained by the artist. Any right to the characters in the artwork that were previously owned by the customer still belong to the customer. The artist will not claim to own the characters belonging to the customer. Credits to the customer, who owns the rights to the character, are not required to be given by the artist; but will always be attempted when the artist deems it both as possible and feasible. The artist is granted unlimited use of the artwork in any way not forbidden in these terms. The artist will refrain from selling prints of the artwork if requested to do so by the customer at the time of purchase of the commissioned artwork. It is the customer's responsibility to notify the artist of this at the time of purchase, not after the work is completed. The artist will upload versions of the artwork to his twitter, which may include: layered files, high resolution files, WIPs, etc. However, the customer will always be given the equivalent or greater quality of files.
Without the customer’s permission, the artist may grant 3rd party entities (such as websites and companies) limited copyrights to the artwork for the purpose of hosting or advertising the artist’s work, products, commissions, attendance at 3rd party owned events, etc. Credits to the customer who owns the character are also not legally required. However, the artist will not permanently transfer or sell the rights to the artwork to such parties. The artist may refrain from using the artwork in this way if requested to do so by the customer at the time of purchase of the commissioned artwork.
3. Artwork Creation Process and Details:
After payment is received for an order, and the customer provides the necessary information for the work to begin, the artwork shall be completed within 60 days. If artwork is not completed in that time frame, the customer is entitled to a refund per the Commission Refund Policy, if the customer desires such action to be taken. (Time does not include communications with the customer, such as waiting for replies to emails sent to the customer.)
The artist reserves the right to cancel orders at any time for any reason if they issue refunds in accordance with the refund policy. See section for Commission Refund Policy.
If the customer will not respond to emails (or not with information that the artist needs to progress the commission) within 30 days, the artist reserves the right to cancel the order and retain all funds paid. If the customer contacts the artist within another 30 days from the time the artist canceled the order, they may be granted a credit for a future commission at the discretion of the Artist.
For all commissions, the artist will provide one or more "work in progress" files for the customer to review and to provide input on. Major changes can only be made during the early “rough sketch” stage, and minor changes before and during the color stage. Major changes may be made during the later parts of the commission process at an additional cost (but cost may be waived if it was due to artist error in original clearly-stated requests of the customer) Customers are encouraged to provide input if they want the most personalized result. However, the artist does reserve the final right to decisions that would affect the artistic quality of the commission as interpreted by the artist. The artist encourages the customers to communicate with and inform the artist of any issues or thoughts they have on the artwork during the creation process. Our ultimate goal is the highest possible satisfaction of the customer with their purchase and their finished artwork. Customer satisfaction, while always greatly desired by the artist, cannot always be guaranteed.
Any part of the creation of the artwork may be filmed or streamed publicly by the artist.
4. Prohibited Commission Subjects:
The artist reserves the right to decline or refuse to produce work or artwork of any subject or topic. Many subjects are allowed, but certain specific things are prohibited due to laws and the Terms of Services of various websites the artist uses. Customers are still encouraged to ask about the subjects they would like drawn, if they are unsure if they are permitted. The artist will consider them as long as they aren’t specifically listed below. Please do not ask the artist to produce anything specifically listed below, the reply will always be “no” or non-existent. Also, just because the artist has previously created any of the subjects listed below, doesn’t mean they will create commissioned work of the same subjects.
The following is a non-exhaustive list of some subjects or items prohibited from being commissioned:
Pornographic or Sexually Explicit subjects, as defined by the artist.
Any subject that would violate the Terms of Service or upload policy of the following websites that the artist currently uses or uploads artwork to: FurAffinity, DeviantART, Picarto, Twitter, Patreon, or Squarespace.
Minors (under 18 years old), or characters appearing to be minors as interpreted by the artist, depicted in a nude, sexual, or sexually suggestive way.
Hateful, obscene, inflammatory, or otherwise offensive subjects, as defined by the artist.
Racist or otherwise discriminatory subjects, as defined by the artist.
Fetish-focused subjects not already commonly drawn by the artist.
Artistic or tasteful nudity is permitted as long as it follows the other terms. The artist will decide on a per-case basis what is acceptable.
5. Commission Slot Requesting Instructions and Information:
All communication relating to commission and business related topics will be handled through the artist's private email: [email protected].
Customers may contact the artist via social media sites for questions relating to commissions, but they may be directed to the primary contact email address.
Commission price lists and availability are available at this web page:

Customers request commissions by filling out the commission form when they are available. Customers might also be granted commission slots at the discretion of the artist at any time after inquiries in-person or through email, in this case, the form does not need to be filled. At the time of the request, the customer will provide details and instructions as to what they would like their potential artwork to be. This includes all references needed for use by the artist in the creation of the customer’s artwork (preferably visual images depicting the character or subject, but other forms such as text descriptions are allowed). The customer should try to be as clear as possible in their request for commissioned artwork, to ensure maximum satisfaction in the end result. Once again, communication with the artist is highly encouraged.
When a customer requests a commission using the form, and the subject of the request is reviewed and accepted by the artist, the customer will receive an email from the artist to confirm that the request was received. The customer will be given a place in a pool of potential commissions for the artist to choose from at their convenience. Commissions are no longer handled exclusively on a “first-come first-served” basis, but the artist will still attempt to make it as fair as possible when selecting new commissions to begin.
The artist will consider various factors when selecting which commission request from the commission pool to begin next. Factors may include the following: customer's current wait time in the pool, the artist’s desire to draw the requested subject, how many commissions the artist has done for the customer previously, the schedule of the artist, urgency of the request, etc. There is no set commitment or pressure, on either the customer or the artist, to proceed with working on a commissioned artwork while the customer’s request is in the commission pool. However, please do not request a place in the commission pool if either you do not currently fully intend to buy a commission or if you do not currently have the means to pay the price of the commission you are requesting. Selections can happen at any time. If the customer is unable or unwilling to pay for and proceed with their requested commission when selected, they can either be removed from the pool or left in the pool for future consideration (at the discretion of the artist during communications.) Communications will be handled via email when the customer is selected. The subject of the commission may also be modified before proceeding, especially since selection can take a substantial amount of time.
In summary of Section 1, once the customer is selected and the finalized subject is decided on between the artist and the customer, the commission cost will be estimated by the artist and the customer will be given a quote for the final price of the artwork (if the artwork is not flat rate.) Once the customer accepts the price, the artist will proceed to invoice the customer for a payment. Payment will be made through a PayPal invoice. Work will not begin until the required payment is made.
Once the payment is received, the customer’s provided username or name will be added to a publicly available list (link here: https://soft-yam-11e.notion.site/Commission-Queue-cc71eee65fc14d06bd6cf5f8d4bd4d5b) used to keep track of who has active (paid) commission slots. The customer is permitted to remain anonymous on the list if they so desire. Soon after, the work will begin on the customer’s commission as discussed in Section 3.Once again, by ordering and paying for a commission you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the full terms written in this document/web page. If you have issues or disagreements with these terms, it may be possible for modifications to be made or things clarified. If you have questions, please contact the artist via email.Commissions are always subject to availability, and basis for availability such as order the requests are processed are at the sole discretion of the artist.
